With a bit of darkening to the edges, else a near fine copy. With a signature [authorial?] on the title page dated 1933. The Constitution, built by Joshua Humphreys in 1794 - 1797, is perhaps the most important American naval vessel of all. This important historical work covers the circumstances of the ship's construction, statistical data on the vessel, details of the ship's active service, information on the various restorations performed on the ship, and more. With several illustrations after black & white photographs, and 10 plates, 9 of which are housed in a pocket at the rear of the book.
