A Living Memorial. [The Benjamin Franklin Memorial].

Philadelphia: Printed by the Franklin Printing Company for the Benjamin Franklin Memorial, Inc., [Circa 1936]. 13" x 10" gilt illustrated portfolio case. With seven separate descriptive sections laid in, comprising 33 pages. Each of these separate sections is nicely printed and includes color printed illustrations. (31 of these probably linocuts, the others are reproduced from color paintings.) The sections include a seven page section about Franklin himself, and about the memorial project; the architect and drawings of the memorial and the Franklin Institute Museum; two cross section views which illustrate the size and scope of the institution; floor plans; a description of the memorial chamber; the Fels Planetarium; and a map showing the location of the institution. Laid-in is "Compliments Of" card with names of Cyrus H. K. Curtis, and others. A couple of leaves have short edge tears, and one section has a creased corner, otherwise the sheets are in near fine condition. The portfolio has some soiling and general wear. Still, a beautifully produced portfolio about this important American historical institution. Hardback (Item ID: 25043)
