This copy inscribed by the author: "Sincere regards, H.E. Harman, Aug. 28 / 05." Harman was "A Poet of the New South" who "followed in the footsteps of Sydney Lanier." This volume includes pastoral poetry on nature and the spiritual life. At least one poem has vague allusions to the Civil War and the Confederacy, and one poem, 'Since Dinah Went Away' is written in black dialect. With black & white photo illustrations.
