This copy inscribed by the author: "With warmest regards, H.E. Harman, March 17 - 1902." Harman was "A Poet of the New South" who "followed in the footsteps of Sydney Lanier." This volume includes pastoral poetry on nature and the spiritual life. One poem, 'Since Dinah Went Away' is written in black dialect; another is entitled "The Passing of the Old Time Negro."
